While it’s important to determine which injectors have failed and are causing your engine’s issues, its also important to understand if any of your other injectors are right on the edge of failure or could fail in the near future. Ultimately the decision to replace a set or individual injectors depends on a number of factors including how many miles are on the current set, was there water or other contaminates in the fuel system, are the injectors right in the middle of spec or on the edge? In many cases, fleet owners will replace an entire set if two or three of the injectors have failed. This is smart in some cases as downtime is very expensive compared to the cost of replacement injectors.
