Turbocharger problems can be tricky. The first thing people jump to when they see oil in the air intake side of the engine is bad “seals” in the turbocharger. Or maybe the turbocharger is noisy and a mechanic believes the noise is a result of a turbocharger failure. For both of these issues, the mechanic may be right. The turbocharger may have failed. In addition to a turbocharger failure, these symptoms could be caused by a number of different underlying problems not at all having to do with the turbocharger. Below is a link to a guide to help individuals through some common turbocharger related problems.
